Who is your School Counselor?
My name is Emily Johnson and I am excited to be here at Harris Middle School.  I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Appalachian State University.  I graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Masters Degree in School Counseling. 


My Mission
My mission is to help every student with personal, academic and career concerns and goals.  I will work with students, parents, educators, and community resources to ensure individual student well-being and success by providing a knowledgeable, safe, and caring counseling office staffed by a Professional School Counselor.  


What do School Counselors Do?
    -Academic Advisement
-Goal Setting
    -Career Awareness
    -Consults with teachers and community resources
    -Talk with students about relationships
    -Familiarize new students with the school
    -Personal and relationship matters
    -Facilitate Small Counseling Groups
    
    -Individual counseling
